or as some might call it soccer.

SO anyone feeling the World Cup craze? Thats about all we hear about over here. lol

I have never really been into it, but I think even I'll watch England vs USA on saturday (I hope it doenst overlap with DW though!)

I already watched the "Coccer Aid" few days ago. Didnt even want to, but got hooked up on it.

and add a German one too.

Over here football ans soccer are two completely different sports. I tend to not be involved with sports regardless though. Just not my cup of tea.

Really!?!?! I though thats how you guys call it, even more - I was sure about it. lol

I quite like any sports (apart form the fighting ones). And I worship figure skating and floorball, both of wich I have done myself.

Never heard of floorball. But yeah we got football and soccer over here, one you run and tackle and throw the ball, the other you kick it with your feet.

Floorball is like a hockey only indoors and with a litle ball. Its more popular in Scandinavia.

Well in Wikipedia it says "Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players using a spherical ball. It is the most popular sport in the world." So soccer and football must be the same thing.

"run and tackle and throw the ball" sounds like a rugby.

I suppose I should call this thread "Get your head around sport terms, primary school level"

Yeah I have heard of Rugby but have no clue if it is the same football. Do they wear helmets to protect their heads and faces? They do in american football.

I have a feeling that rugby and American football is the same thing. ... Just checked on Wikipedia AGAIN.. nope, they are not and in rugby they dont wear them. All my life I though rugby = American football. I actually learn things here!

BTW! YAY! England just won Slovenia and got through along with USA

Not for a while yet! They keep showing the football enstead of the usual series on BBC1. Thats QUITE annoying. I like football, but not too much of it. lol

Awful awful awful. TV stations should show what people actually WANT to see. Not endless sports and governmental news.

The reporters (from helihopters were like "He [Cameron] went in to see the Queen, he should be out in about 15 minutes....oh, it takes longer than usual...he should come out now...thats his car there... now he should come OUT"

    Sammy! Fnally somebody knows something!

Wasnt Italy left out at the end anyway?

haha, yeah i know that thing!

Well, England sucks. lol Today it was England v Germany (I couldnt see it because I was in my bloody job). England lost 1:4 to Germany and is OUT. Good thing is that now I am "sticking" to those 13% of German blood in me and feel happy. LOL Anyway I was sort of confuzed between England and Germany in the first place - I have always sort of loved Germany, but I live in England and so on. So its all good actually.
