Re: The Eleventh Hour
Well, ok I know I missed this but anyway...
As for the opening. I think the opening was really good. The way they introduced Amy and the fact that by the time Amy is grown up she and Doctor has had some "shared" history. sort of makes her more familiar to us.

I hope so! We don't really need another obsessed companion. Or companion in love. That concept has been done just fine to date.

Re: The Eleventh Hour
Well, as far as I understand from these 2 eps, its like this. Amy is not sure about her marriage and if she really needs it or even if she will marry at all, so she runs off with the Doctor, she is confused and of course she is fascinated by all the "new worlds" and the Doctor.
Amy's "psychological portrait":
She is a very brave person, she is not afraid to take risks and she has always wanted something more. But over the years she has lost her hopes and just sort of copes with life. She happened to get engaged and she thinks marriage will keep her safe and she'll have at least somebody, but now since the Doctor - her childhood hero is back, everything changes. She opens her mind to the "impossible" and has dreams again and she starts to doubt her initial plans...and the rest is not known to me just yet aka - I wont speculate that much.

Well, that was my interpretation of the matter and hopefully not terribly off the rails.

Good news! A friend is taping the series for me. It may be a little late for me to see the episodes, but I will see them.

Re: The Eleventh Hour
Ha ha I bet you were quite good.
Well I finally have seen THE ELEVENTH HOUR thanks to a friend who will be taping the season for me.It was great fun seeing the Doctor crash land in the garden. Poor shed! And I was quite touched by little Amelia Pond (before she grew into Karen Gillan' older Amy) and laughed out loud loads of time when he met Amy 12 years later. Rory was cool too if dimwitted lol. And Prisoner Zero reminded me of the Master snake from the TV Movie. Only a bit easier to gaze upon. lol. And Amy's cheekiness at not turning her back when the Doctor was changing his clothes was funny.
But the real star of the show was the new look Tardis-inside and out. I LOVE what the Doctor's done with the place although it came as a complete but happy suprise to him as well! Can't wait for the following episodes especially the Dalek one.

Re: The Eleventh Hour
Well at least I could hold a tune, not like some others!
Oh, little Amelia was fab!
So far the Dalek episode has been the least popular. I really liked the beginning and later parts of it, but yeah it had some flaws, I think. ANd when I saw the new Daleks coming out one after another..each in a different colour... it was sort of funny, hmmm.

Re: The Eleventh Hour
I was very impressed with little Amelia, and when they went ahead 12 years I was like WHAAAAAAT when they first showed her grown up. But they did an excellent job casting the two to look so much like each other, so you can believe they are meant to be the same person at different ages and everything.
So the Dalek episode is being recieved much like the Manhatten two-parter from three years ago? too bad. Too bad.I was hoping for it to be a hit.

Re: The Eleventh Hour
Really??? I did NOT know that. I thought they just did an open casting call and the little girl was chosen.
Daleks Daleks Daleks maybe they have been done to death of late? Or maybe it's just the writing is to blame and not that they keep on coming back?

Re: The Eleventh Hour
Not a close relative, but yeah.
For me there was some dodgy writing...wel it wasnt THAT bad, it was good actuslly, or at least the idea was good, its the details that spoils it.

And the new-look Daleks.......
Well how was tonight's episode? A good cliffhanger I hope? It is a two-parter, right?
