Ok, being very, very serious and critical... I really like her. Glad she came back and she has all that mystery behind her. So yeeeaahhh!
What I like is that in a way she is equal to the Doctor, she is like "above" a companion.

I concur with your assessment. She is more like Captain Jack or the Brigadier as a recurring ally of the Doctor than an actual companion.

Damn, they still didnt reveal who she is. Have to wait till the next year. All i can think of is that she is deff not his wife, cause they keep implaying on it too much, so it cant be it. lol

IMDb has some theories about her being his mother.
Seriously, I fear SM will keep River in shrouds as long as possible.

I had that thought too! So far my guesses are - wife (howerer not likely, as that would be too obvious), mother (could be), other timelord (could be), daughter (that would be interesting), some other character from the clasical series (but better not, cause I dont know any of them)...

Yeah, probably.

I highly doubt she will end up being, say, Romana or the Rani or any other classic series character. Only because SM would have to write them in such a way to explain it to new fans and that will take time out from an otherwise cracking episode.

I must admit my suprise that this year's finale did not have a conventional "big bad guy" in it. Brave of SM to try something new!

Yeah and thats exactly what makes it so good. Finally no baddie, who is now even worse and wants to destroy the universe in a "bigger and better" way than before!

So what happened to the Alliance of the Doctor's old enemies after they pushed him into the Pandorica? Did they just scatter?

well they prob hanged around had some beer... not that they had much time for that anyway though.
