Fans of Tom Baker may feel free to post here about the definitive portrayal of the part from the classic series.
I grew up watching Tom Baker as a very little boy and was hooked instantly. The first story I believe I saw was either Robot or The Ark in Space, Tom's two earliest stories. In these days Tom had already left the programme, yet his popularity was such that PBS stations began airing his episodes around 1982 (the year Peter Davison took over in Britain) for the american viewers.
I dare say in those days of the 1980s my fascination for all things 4th Doctor was at least as great as the younger fans of today's appreciation for 10th Doctor David Tennant. AS for Matt Smith...well, we'll see!
